Before i post what i am going to post, i'd like to just say that jimmy day was indeed a fun time. Asphalt skiing was equally good, though i think dodging cars was slightly more fun. It probably has to do with the whole risk=thrill aspect of humanity. I don't know. So, Zach, how's the arm, leg, whole left side of the body going?
Hmm, i also realize that if i am going to be wearing a suit and stuff, i should look into getting a tie. Yeeup. Then again, am i trying to fit in or just harmonize the group? Oh well.
I have thought long and hard about what the tenth "Most Vile Thing Imaginable" should be, and i believe i have finally come up with the right one. I will post it later though, because i don't have all the images and whatnot that i need to make the entry. It took me awhile to come up with a good one because that LFO and Judge Judy entry was perhaps the most vile thing in a long long while, and its hard to top that.
and now, onto the show

I was reading the newspaper the other day. Actually, i was glancing at it through one of those newspaper display vendors. I ended up getting a different newspaper, but that's not really important. Anyway, this paper had the headline, "1 in 3 children a bully, victim of bullying" or something like that. It made me think, "Hey, i lucked out, i wasn't really ever bullied when i was younger." Then i realized something, i may not have been bullied when i was younger, but there was a good chance i was a bully. In fact, i think we all are, or were. I probably still am, but to a lesser degree. I shall now explain:
Bullying, in the most basic typical definition, is agression and harassment by someone else who is seen as bigger than you or more powerful than you. When we here this word, we conjure up images of this big smelly fat little school kid pushing us around, trying to steal our lunch money, or trying to publicly embarrass us to further his or her image, or just to make them feel better. Now, by that description, we can determine whether some of us were targets of schoolyard bullies or not. I was not.
However, i don't think that is were bullying ends, and i don't believe that is an accurate image of a bully. I think in truth that we are all bullies to some extent. How so? Well, whenever we, and by we i mean us who posts here, and some of the people we know, see someone doing or saying something that to us seems so inept, that we mock him or her. I wish i could think of an exact example, but i can't. However, i do know that i have at least done it, and so has jimmy and james and so forth.
Bullying is more than being a large oaf and taking people's money. It is more based on humilation and furthering one's own position in either life or in social stature. It deals with the idea of trying to be the best. It is embedded in our society and most likely in our bodies. It's a fundamental part of survival. And, i think its rather cyclical by nature. If you were bullied when younger, more than likely you will be a bigger bully in a different aspect. The only different is that some peole might be bullies by using what they know, their "intellegence", whether there is actual intellegence or not.
Well, i don't know anymore where i was going with all this, so i think i'll end for now.
Actually, a quick question for Mr. Collins. When you click on the link for comments, where would the comments end up at?
and also, I agree with DrJekyll Hyde in that Heather you are welcome here. I can't even think of why someone wouldn't be welcome to post...although i'm sure that there could be a reason for not wanting someone to post.
