Being Professor Spellman

Once again i find myself at Mary Gates Hall, continuing to work on that video project of mine, and also working on parts of my research/observation paper. However, i decided to take a quick break and post about something that happened to me a couple of minutes ago...and it involved free food.

So there i was, working on that video project, and taking a break from my observation paper, when two people i know from my Psych 419 class stopped by. They came into the computer lab to work on their observation papers too...and they have much better animals to write about...but anyway...

I was then informed that there was still food around just outside the lab for some retirement party. While i had been working, there was a retirement party going on just outside the lab, and it was catered. Catered, meaning that there was food for the eatin'. So i, along with the other two people, another jeff and a girl named erica, went to get some food. The food was okay. They had lemonade, and tuna slices, and cheese and cake...yum...

Anyway, so we crashed the retirement gathering...

and then i took on a dare of sorts...

I decided to go up to the person who the retirement party was for and say hello.

Quite interesting. I even earned a dollar from the bet i placed with the other jeff for going out there and shaking the guys hand...

The guy, as it turned out, was a professor by the name of Francis Spellman. I walked up, introduced myself, shook his hand, and told him that i was a student who had been interested in majoring in biology, possibly bioengineering, which he happened to be the president of...or something along those lines...

Really, quite fascinating.

Evidently, Professor Spellman was quite happy with that and gave me a business card. Quite interesting.

Here is a picture of the business card, after i scanned it, along with the dollar i earned, and a little sign that i used to determine the good professor's name before i went up to him.

Meet the Professor

Yeeup...quite interesting indeed.
It puts me in the mood to walk up to more strangers and talk to them as if i know them. Originally, my plan had been to say, "How's it going Professor Spellman, as if i knew him..." but when i introduced myself, i forgot my pre-rehearsed idea (it was pre-rehearsed in my head), so i just Ad-libed. Still, i want to try that some more...

its kind of like when james went up to that schizophrenic guy in front of the EMP and tried talking to him. I need to find a schizo to talk to now. Although, i don't think i have to look far...they seem to find me quite easily.
