Jimmi;
FUCK YOU.

With that out of the way, let me support my views, and clarify some points.

First, I didn't mean that Bush's control (he has none, as you pointed out) over the economy was the cause-rather, a Republican, and a stupid one, entering the white house is what caused it. I didn't make that clear enough the first time.

Second, Reaganomics didn't fucking work. Trickle down works, but you can't stake the entire economy on it, and when they did it the only thing that trickled down to the bottom was the guys at the top pissing on the middle and lower classes. The reason(s) for the economy being halfway decent during the reagan years had less to do with his (although he wasn't in charge, we can still blame him) economics, and more to do with the cold war. The cold war was really good for the country, strange as it may be, we at least had something to wok towards.

Third, you said labor unions do nothing. Bullshit. Complete and total crap. Unions protect the workers from the greed of big business. Moreso than all the labor laws and OSHA bullshit, they protect the wages, working conditions and thus livelyhood of many people. I do agree that in some cases it goes to far, Boeing and SPEA being a key example, and your Germany story (however you must also take into account the fact that Germany's economy is in the shitter because they take like 3 months of vacation a year on average, and German cars are made in other countries as much as there anymore) point out abuses of the system. I also think that there should be no need for labor unions. Unionization is a result of poor management more than anything else, and if companies worried less about the bottom line and more about the people that get them there, unions would be nowhere to be found in this country. But no. Companies and business owners cut corners whereever they can, and they eventually go after the working people. The middle class in this country would be virtually nonexistant without the unions that we have now. I, for one, would not have my job. So go fuck yourself, Jimmi. (of course, I mean that in the nicest way possible, and no offense is meant by it)

Fourth, Bush is the man of the people? Yeah, the rich, white, republican, oil company executive type people. HE WASN'T ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE. He was elected by the electoral college, the people voted for someone else. Moot point though it is.

Fifth, politicians are all bullshit (with the possible exception of Jesse Ventura) no matter what side of the isle they sit on, they all do the same damn thing (nothing) anyway. On that we can all agree. But, typically, the democrats are more friendly with union companies than the republicans, I can't think of a democratic president who ever broke a union.

Sixth, cutting taxes doesn't always work. And if you cut the taxes for the one percent a lot, and more or less ignor the other 99 percent, it doesn't help those who are barely making a living wage. The was reaganomics, and it just plain didn't work. You said that the democrats typically look after the majority, but it seems that the republicans look after the rich more than anyone else. Why do the rich need tax cuts? How is that fair? Fuck the rich. They can fend for themsleves, if you cut taxes for the lower and middle class, you cut less of your revenue, and give more people spending money that will help the economy, instead of just helping the rich get richer.

Ok so I've rambled a bit, but you got pretty riled with the whole "Unions do nothing" speil.

Onward.

My PC went tits up friday. I just got more RAM, some for the mac to run OS X better, and got some for the PC too. Put it in, didn't start. Took it out, put the old back, didn't start. It had been having problems (issues, as we say) D'oh. that sucked. So I bought a new logic board (aka motherboard) and proccessor, and a new case because the old micro ATX case won't hold a very big board. Spent all day yesterday working on that, got it going, and went to a party. That didn't go well, either. Brad (jeff borton's older bro) and his best friend (John Paul) went at it pretty good, tore the place up. And there in the middle between the two was Mike Frey and me (mainly just Frey). That sucked.
