Both of you brought up good points. The lack of habitat vs. overpopulation for the amount of room left/reserved for them, and the zoos 'protect' the endangered wildlife. However, this brings me back to what I said earlier. If there were no people killing them off in the first place, or moving into there land, cutting off their natural habitat, killing off the species... and then in an effort to rectify what others have done wrong, bring them back into the wildlife only to overdue it for what is left... it is horrible. But people, humans, homosapians did this in the first place.
WE went where they belonged. We took over as the foriegn wildlife/plants that we brought to this country and others. If not for people, the world would still be 'whole'.
Have you ever seen the movie 'Instinct'... I think that is what it is called, I am HORRIBLE at remembering names. They main character... I love his work/personality, (Nicolas Cage maybe?) but I don't know his name either. BAJS! Anyway, the movie is about this man who is supposedly gone crazy. He lived with gorillas for like 5 years, and in the end when humans found him again, he killed some/one of them. They killed his 'family', the gorillas that is. The irony is that he had many years before (you find this out later in the movie) is he had killed a whole family of gorillas just to get a 'stud' for a zoo. When he is in jail he talks to no one till this councelor (the black guy) comes along and our main character tries to teach him what he has learned. It's hard to explain, you have to have seen the movie.
But in one part of the movie, our main guy has accrylic that he uses on the cell of his wall. There he draws the 'real' history of man in accordance with nature. It's the world and then blue lines for the people who live with nature, are bound by it. And then there were the red lines, the ones who took from nature and spread everywhere. He showed how the Takers had spread everywhere, and how the Blue ones became less and less as greed and the illusions of society set in.
My point is that from this example, if we took all the Takers away, and we just left the Blue ones... I think the world would be a better place.
The animals would then HAVE a habitat, they would then NO LONGER have to be put in ZOOS for their PROTECTION. We would no longer have to hunt them just to keep the population UNDER CONTROL.. Everything could become natural again. The balance would be restored.
